With around 33.000 students and an annual flow of graduates amounting to 6.000 engineers, 5.500 managers, 1.100 students in Architecture, Art, Design and Theatre notwithstanding 500 students from Political Science Institutes, the forty AGERA schools occupy a prominent place in the Auvergne Rhone-Alps Region.
The network combines a range of multi-disciplinary training courses that make it possible to combine competence and creativity and aims at making a significant contribution to the social and economic development of the region, the nation and the training of innovative managers in an economy that is said to be the knowledge-based economy.
Built around a three-pronged approach that combines training, research and innovation, the alliance aims at reinforcing synergies and pooling actions between its members, notably in terms of relations with the economic world, pedagogical innovation, international open-mindedness, social open-mindedness and diversification regarding the learning channels (apprenticeships, vocational training, validation of acquired experience (VAE),
Sharing and pooling experience to extract best practices, organising cross-fertilisation of different cultures, thinking strategically about sensitive issues are just some of AGERA’s objectives. AGERA is a privileged partner of the Auvergne Rhone-Alps Region and is a regional variation of the French Conférence des Grandes Ecoles. AGERA covers the full scope of the new Auvergne Rhone-Alps Region through its presence in the main University centres (Chambery, Clermont-Ferrand, Grenoble, Lyon, St Etienne and Valence).
AGERA plays a major role in the ever-changing and continuously reforming University landscape (the French COMUE, mergers, consolidations, forward-looking investments, etc.), by capitalising on its strong points and specific features that create the fertile ground for creating future wealth.
